The Queen of the Night - Pride by Myenia

I'm doing 7 small paintings for Oklacon going along with the theme "the 7 furry sins," and each representing a character from an opera representing that sin.

This is the Queen of the Night from Mozart's "The Magic Flute", representing pride. I promise she looks better in person

Acrylics, 5x7 inches

Medium: acrylics
Tags: night bat Pride queen
Werewolf Calendar Bookmark by Myenia

This is one of 3 bookmarks that we're handing out at conventions this year! The other two designs were made by Zowolf and Balaa, and you can pick one up this weekend at Califur from Thornwolf! (They're free!)

Or: at AC from Synnabar
at Eurofurence from Khaosdog
or at Oklacon from me

These will also be included in the first so many calendars that are sold when orders open on Sept. 1st. If you want one and want a reminder sent to you, email werewolfcalendar[at]hotmail.com to get on the mailing list. If you're on the mailing list, you'll get to see the calendar images before everyone else also!

Balaa by Myenia

Gift art to Balaa (balaa.deviantart.com). I chose to show her Liger form, which represents her "more motherly and noble" characteristics, because this is the side of her I have seen so well. This is a thank-you gift for both her help with the calendar as well as help personally. She is so incredibly nice and giving!

This is gift art to Zakka ( yellow-eyes.deviantart.com ) as a thank-you for all the help these past few years with the calendar (and everything else she's been supportive with). Thank you!

I know some people may not like the texture background, but oh well...I had alot of fun messing with different textures and I liked how this one went with it.

Meeting in the Mist by Myenia

I painted this a in February for the Furry Fiesta art show, and have just now finally gotten a successful photo of it.

I painted this in 5 days, and this is the first time I felt "fluent" with acrylics. A big part was that my boyfriend gave me a gift card and insisted I bought something other than beginner's paints- and then the salesman told me to never use black to darken, which I hadn't known before. It certainly paid off, both the paints and the advice.

20x30 inches, Acrylics.
For sale if anyone is interested.

Medium: Acrylics on Watercolor board
Tags: dragon mountain knight Mist staircase
Inevitable by Myenia

In about 2 billion years, the Andromeda Galaxy is supposed to collide with our own.

To see the larger sized image :http://myenia.deviantart.com/art/Inevitable-112061026
(its worth seeing, I think :) )

If you know anything about my Luhkazti characters...they live way in the future, when all human life has left the planet. I would imagine the sky would look something like this about then. And I just love doing starscapes :-D!

I've been on an entirely too-long art block, so I took a day off of commissions and work for the organizations I'm involved with, and pulled something unfinished out of my sketch folder. I feel much better now.

Wolf Portrait by Myenia

The results of a camping trip! In reality its alot less patchy and grainy...this is actually 4 scans put together. The drawing is about 11x15 inches.

This is up for auction! I was rear-ended and thrown into the car in front of me (and then hit again 2 days later in the parking lot), and my car may be totalled. If not, it is going to be in the shop for at least a month. I can't get a job, so I'm selling anything I can make. http://www.furbuy.com/auctions/1004936.htmlg

Medium: mechanical pensil
Tags: wolf portrait pensil
My Calendar Image! Alternate title: Snack Time

The calendars are available for pre-order! See the website for more info!

www.werewolfcalendar.com

I'm aware that the tongue is...hard to tell its a tongue. But there really isn't an easy way to make it look tonguish.

"Living in the city can be difficult for werewolves, as they prefer quiet, open spaces rather than the small flats and crowded streets of cities. They may stay in urbanized areas for different reasons: some have a regular human life, a job and friends. Due to all of the advantages of living near a city, there is alot of competition over urban areas. Werewolves claiming city territory are typically large and tough, and often have to defend their homes and family from intruders. "

New World by Myenia

I did an ACEO trade with Bloodhound Omega a year ago...and the card got lost in the mail. So, she let me take a whole year to make it up...so I did a full painting. I hope you like it! I don't know much about the story behind her bloodhounds...but I think that the setting may be appropriate.

I've been DIEING to do a starry sky! And after several months of trying to find a new fur method...I've found it. Tada.

An early progress shot can be seen on my livejournal.

Wolf Soul by Myenia

Background is not a photo...heres a closeup at 50% http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v689/myenia/cluseup.jpg

I made this to be a wallpaper for my computer.

The background is referenced from a photo my mother took. Thank you God for controlled scribble. The image is shown at 11%...the original is...way to big to comprehend. This had to take well over 50 hours, I've been doing it on and off for 2 months. I still really don't like how flat the rocks in the foreground look, but I've already decided I'm done with this. Other than that, I'm REALLY happy with it!

Feel free to use it as your wallpaper too...but please don't do anything I wouldn't be ok with because this has got to be my most difficult and involved work so far. Thanks!

Commission for Scrapper Black Dragon. Acrylics, a little prisma 15X20. I feel like I'm getting better at acrylics

I only had about 5 minutes to paste the scans together, so the colors are a bit off and too dark.

Mira commission by Myenia

A commission for Mira !

She asked for an african wild dog similar to my "Hyena Matriarch." I think I might have said blue jewelry, so if you'd prefer I change it, let me know. I hope you like it!

I tried a new method of fur on this, so feedback on whether its a change for the good or not is greatly appreciated.

Orfeus by Myenia

When I met my current boyfriend, back before we were together, we decided to do a music/art trade...he composed a tuba solo for me. As I asked him more and more specifically what he wanted for this, it turned from just an image into a story, and now he wants to do a comic book. I'm a bit hesitant to do that, but you will probably see some character sheets from me in the next few months. This character, Orfeus, belongs to him.

Orfeus is a weapon summoner, and the last of his kind. He uses his few different weapons by cutting himself on the tattoo with the knife on his belt, and the combination of blood and the magic of the tattoes summons the weapons. A long time ago, Orfeus was decieved, and thrown into the underworld. When he escaped, he broke the seal and let out thousands of fiends, which he now devotes his time to sending back.

Medium: photoshop cs2
Tags: wolf demon orfeus orpheus
September by Myenia

For an upcoming calendar project that Yellow-eyes and I are organizing.

The idea is a werewolf calendar that will resemble wildlife calendars sold featuring animal photographs. Each month will have a paragraph giving some "information" about werewolves. Watch either of our journals for more information, they will become available for order in October!

"Even though werewolves can pronounce human words in beast form, body language still plays a very important part in their communication, even in human form. Poses, growls and barks can often express more than words do.”

Carnivale by Myenia

So, its supposed to be like, all things Venice. Saint Mark's lion (winged lion) is a symbol of the city, and the mask for the carnival, and the violin for the music.

This was done for the free-topic part of the TRR contest. It is slightly different, in that I sent the unfinished version, barely making the deadline by 2 minutes. I am still not happy with it, I wanted to do a whole ton of detail on the mask, but, I've been killing myself to get this done. Since this is just about all I got to put on the contest entry, I didn't add much more.

To violinists: I'm sorry! I'm a musician, but I only took half a semester of violin, so whatever mistakes I made, SORRY! I'd like to see you draw a tuba.

February by Myenia

For an upcoming calendar project that Zakka and I are organizing.

It will resemble wildlife calendars sold featuring animal photographs. Each month will have a paragraph giving some "information" about werewolves. Watch either of our journals for more information, they will become available for order in October! The other artists involved are Yellow-eyes, Sthenno, Coyox, and Rayndancer, so see their galleries for more!

"During mating season in the winter, werewolves will spend even more time with their mate than usual. Werewolves are very affectionate, and will often choose this time of the year for vacation, often to national parks for camping. At home during the winter, the male will become increasingly protective of the female, and will display subordinate body language and behaviour to her. Female werewolves do not go into heat, like their wolf relatives. The two will become practically inseparable.”
